The Mississippi Chapter of the American Society of Agronomy will hold it’s annual meeting on Wednesday, November 16 at the Grenada County Extension Office.  The program will being at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 3:30 p.m.  CCA continuing education units are available in the following categories:  Nutrient Management – 3.0; Pest Management – 1.0; Soil and Water Management – 0.5.  The complete program is as follows:

9:00 – 9:25                  Registration & Refreshments

9:25 – 9:30                  Welcome and Opening Comments – Dennis Reginelli, President MS Chapter of ASA

9:30 – 10:00                Evaluation of Fertilizer Recommendations for Mississippi Soybeans – Mark Shankle , MSU-MAFES & Keith Crouse, MSU-ES

10:00 – 10:30             The Role of Fertilizer, Fertilizer Enhancers and Bio Stimulants in Forage Production – Rocky Lemus, MSU-ES

10:30 – 11:00              Irrigation Conservation Practices – Lyle Pringle, MSU-MAFES

11:00 – 11:30              Agronomic Fertilizer Utilization in Mississippi Crops – Bob Thompson, Jimmy Sanders, Inc.

11:30 – 12:00              Plant and Soil Sciences Update – Mike Phillips, Department Head

12:00 – 12:45              Lunch – Spanky’s BBQ

12:45 – 1:30                Row Crop Disease Updates – Tom Allen, MSU-ES & Alan Henn, MSU-ES

1:30 – 2:00                  Nutrition & Protein Values for Wildlife Forages Used in the Southeast – Adam Tullos, MSU-ES

2:00 – 2:30                  Current Status of Weed Resistance:  What Is Working in Mississippi – Dan Reynolds, MSU-PSS

 2:30 – 3:00                  Nitrogen Stablizers:  What Works and Where Do They Fit – Tim Walker, MSU-MAFES

3:00 – 3:30                   Other Current Issues in Mississippi Soil Fertility Management – Larry Oldham, MSU-ES
