VXN104_2183_150NThe MSU-DREC Rice Producer Field Day will be held in conjunction with the annual Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation Summer Rice Grower Meeting this year on the afternoon of July 30 at the Capps Center in Stoneville..  The Farm Bureau meeting will begin with lunch at noon, followed by the program beginning at 1 pm.  Guest speakers include Ms. Betsy Ward and Mr. Ben Mosley with the USA Rice Federation.  The MSU-DREC Rice Field Day will begin around 3:30 pm with a Trailer field tour of research plots, following the adjournment of the Farm Bureau meeting. Speakers and topics for the MSU-DREC Rice Field Day include:

 

Dr. Bobby Golden – 2015 year-in update and prevalent management issues in 2015

Dr. Jason Bond – Emerging herbicide technologies

Dr. Jeff Gore – Insect management and benefits of rice seed treatments

Dr. Tom Allen – Rice disease identification and management

Dr. Jason Krutz – Utilization and benefit of Side Inlet Max in Mississippi production systems

Dr. Ed Redona – Breeding program update and potential releases on the horizon.
