We saw a surge in RBSB numbers a few weeks ago into March planted soybeans that were approaching R6 growth stage but since then populations have moderated. Just in the last few days we are now seeing another big surge moving into more acres and treatments are increasing, particularly in the south Delta and Hill Region but we are hearing of lower numbers being found pretty far into the North Delta and Hill Region. We have a large percentage of beans that were planted very early April and I am already hearing about Gramoxone applications being lined up. When the bulk of these early beans finish up, we fully expect to see even greater numbers begin to move into later planted soybean and reinfestations to happen much quicker behind sprays.

Keep scouting and watch closely for this pest.
