Preliminary Wheat Variety Yield Data

Preliminary yield data from the 2014 MSU Wheat Variety Trials are now available.  You can download the data as either a pdf or Excel file from:

Wheat variety performance may range considerably for different varieties depending upon region, especially for southern or coastal regions of Mississippi, compared to the Delta and North Mississippi.  Consequently, you will likely do a much better job of assessing superior variety adaptiveness and future performance by analyzing yield data from multiple locations and/or years within a region. However, the preliminary data summarized in the link above are not grouped by appropriate cropping regions, so I would disregard the “Hills” summary column, or make appropriate adjustments using the Excel file.
