Southwestern Corn Borer Traps: July 13, 2018

Overall, southwestern corn borer trap counts have been lower than normal all year and we appear to have gotten past the peak of the second generation. Additionally, the bulk of the corn has reached the dent stage and is beyond the point where it is no longer susceptible to yield losses from corn borer. As a result, we will no longer be reporting numbers unless trap numbers increase again. If you have corn that is still susceptible and don’t have traps out, feel free to call anytime for an update.
