As in previous years, I will post weekly pheromone moth trap catch results here throughout the growing season. This year we have traps in 4 Delta counties and 3 “Hills” counties. Each county has either 3 or 4 traps for bollworm and an additional 3-4 traps for tobacco budworm. These trap catch reports should never replace field scouting for larvae and eggs, but can provide an additional warning of pressure and can also provide an indication of how likely tobacco budworm are to be part of your egg lay.  This week you can see that bollworm moth pressure was slightly higher than average at every location, but tobacco budworm catches were low.
