Pheromone trap catches of bollworm and tobacco budworm moths were down this week to more typical levels for this time of year. This is the last week that trap catches will be reported for this year. If you think that bollworms were bad this year, you are correct. We averaged more bollworm moths per trap per week this year than any previous year since 2008 (the first year records are readily available) and catches were approximately double the average moth catch since 2008.
