The Delta Research and Extension Center is hosting the upcoming Ag and Safety Day on Thursday February 8th, 2024 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
The day will be highlighted by Farm Bureau’s grain bin safety training featuring their grain bin safety simulator. It is a mini grain bin on wheels; we’ll fill it with corn, and some participants will be allowed inside to experience the dangers of entering a bin when it is full. The Farm Bureau personnel will offer tips about what to do (and not do) in and around grain bins with talking points and videos.
At 11:00, Leslie Woolington will give an overview of row crop and catfish pond safety, and lunch will be served at noon.
After lunch, MSU specialists will offer updates on various row crop subjects, and Leslie will give another presentation on shop safety and stress awareness.
This will be be a great opportunity for farmers and their employees as we move into the 2024 cropping season.
